About HSEIB Emotional Literacy Program

This program is based on Dr. Im-Wang's clinical experience working with children in various settings ranging from school districts to hospitals.  Pre-K and Preschool children learn best when using their body, especially when learning such complex concept as emotions!  

Do you experience emotions only on your face?  Why use books and tools that show only faces when we experience emotions on our entire body?

Dr. Im-Wang's emotional literacy program uses a children's book with a child character named Kai. The child's character goes through various feelings throughout the book along with the reader. This approach helps with sustaining children's attention, which we know is directly related to learning outcomes.

Through fun exercises and examples, your students will be talking relaxation techniques and deep breathing.
The book also offers introduction literature for educators and parents to better understand the mechanism behind teaching emotions to children.
